Print Feature in The National Student

I am proud and excited to share with you guys my feature in the latest print edition of The National Student. It is so wonderful and surreal to see my work in print and I’m very thankful for the National Student for believing in me, giving me so many great opportunities and really helping to launch my career in the field of journalism.

Students will be distributing copies at universities across the UK, including my very own Exeter University, but you can also check out the whole issue online here – I highly recommend it, it’s full of amazing and talented work! Poetry Collection: Shackles & Scissors

At the end of last year, I wrote a little poetry collection called Shackles and Scissors. I hesitated before deciding to share this collection because it is always daunting putting your creative work out into the world, especially when it’s close to your heart, as these poems are. I put a lot of (quite real) sweat and tears into these poems, wanting to capture the rawness of loss in a way that not only speaks truthfully to my own life but to others’ as well.

Already I look back at some of these poems and cringe, because they’ll always be works in progress to me, but eventually you have to let go of your darlings, and I think a little imperfection is what makes poetry so human.

Hope you enjoy reading it as much as I tortured writing it!
