Easy, Breasy, Acai Bowl

I’m sure a lot of you have heard of Acai bowls before (or most likely seen them pop up on travel bloggers’ aesthetic Instagram feeds), and wondered, ‘what is an acai bowl and why are they so damn popular?‘ Well, for those of you who are newcomers to the craze, an acai bowl is basically like a thick smoothie you eat with a spoon, made with acai puree (a tropical palm fruit) and then topped with fresh fruit, cereal, you name it.

6 Tips To Make The Most of Florence

I’m so excited to share with you guys a new article I wrote for We Are Travel Girls! I visited Florence months ago but now I can finally share with you all my tips and tricks to making the most out of this beautiful, wonderful city. Take a look at the article below…

“Florence is a magnificent city, full of history and charm. There is so much to see that it can be overwhelming to decide what things to do whilst you are visiting. In this post we share 6 top tips to help you make the most of your time in Florence. These pieces of advice will help you to savour and enjoy the beauty of Florence and never want to leave!

  1. Avoid the Gelato Mountains

One of the most useful tips I learnt while in Florence was how to find the best gelato. Walking around the city centre you are lured by window-front gelaterias with high piled mountains of gelato but don’t be fooled. I learnt from a local that these fancy ‘ice cream mountains’ aren’t real gelato.

In fact, the best gelato melts because it is fresh and doesn’t have preservatives that allow it to be moulded that high. Look for the gelaterias where the ice cream is away from the window, and in modest tubs; that is the best stuff. My personal favourites are the ‘Antica Gelateria Fiorentina’ near the city centre and ‘Gelateria della Passera’ on the Santo Spirito side of the Ponte Vecchio.”

An Adventurer’s Guide to Cartagena: Where to Explore

Last but not least here is the ultimate section of my 3-part travel guide to Cartagena! I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I’ve loved writing it and if you have any questions/comments about Cartagena, or travel in general, comment below, I’d love to talk with you all more!

“The city of Cartagena is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to what you can do during your stay, a whole world of rainforest hikes, hidden beaches, underwater wonders and more await you just outside the city limits!

I could go on and on about where to explore in Cartagena so I am going to focus on the two best experiences I had: Baru Island and Fenix Beach Club! My Baru Island day tour with Taroa Adventures was easily the highlight of my time in the Cartagena. I was lucky enough to have my own private tour and we started the trip by spending the morning in the seaside town of Baru, walking around, meeting the locals and learning about their traditions and culture (including a live traditional music performance). We then took a boat ride through beautiful mangrove forests to a picturesque local beach with white sand and aquamarine waters where we ate a lunch of fresh fish and relaxed for the afternoon.”
